Five World Religions
The Five World Religions is about different types of religions. A Religion is where someone believes in a God or many Gods. There is many different types of Religions, such as Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Monotheism, and Polytheism. For Hinduism there is no certain founder, it started out of "cultural and religion changes in India". Hinduism started in India about 4000 years ago. They believe in different forms of gods. But all forms of gods are called Brahman.
Judaism was founded in 2,500 B.C. by Abraham. It was founded in Mesopotamia. The days that the Jews would celebrate Judaism was on every Saturdays. Just how Christians celebrate the Lord on every Sunday. Buddhism was founded by Siddharta Gautama, also known as "The Buddha" in c. 520 BCE. The place it was founded in was Northeastern India. The place they would worship the Buddha is in a Temple of some kind.
Christianity is known as the worlds most largest religion that people are today. It was founded in Palestine by Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Jewish carpenter. It was founded in 33 AD. No one in that time liked Christianity. They didn't like it at all until the King approved of it. Islam's believe that if a woman happen to have a girl when they are pregnant is considered a "blessing". Islam was founded in 622 CE. Islam is the second largest religion in the world, right after Christianity. the founder of Islam was named Muhammad. It is most common in the Middle East and North Africa.
Monotheism believe in only one God. The word of Monotheism is Greek for "Monos" They believe that their God is self-sufficient. They do not like any other religion. They strongly believe that their is only one God and people that believe in more then one God is to be frowned upon. Now Polytheism is where the people believe in many Gods. In India there is Indra witch is the storm of God, Vayu is the wind God, Yama is the God of Death .
